Access: Self-Referral / Referral
Ages: Birth to Kindergarten
Early Abilities provides speech and language assessment and intervention services for children from birth to entry into kindergarten and their families. The main goal of the program is to ensure that every child in Toronto achieves their optimal communication development. Following assessment, individual service plans and intervention goals will be developed in collaboration with families. In addition to improving speech and language skills, children will focus on school readiness skills.
Families in this program will also be connected to other community resources and programs if needed, be provided with parent/caregiver education and receive guidance and support in transitioning their child into school board services.
Additional Access Information:
Referrals can be made directly by parents (a physician referral is not required), or can be made by professionals (e.g., doctor, daycare staff, early intervention worker, etc.) with parental/caregiver consent.
