- What is Applied Behaviour Analysis?
Applied Behaviour Analysis was first developed in the 1960s and is an evidence-based, scientific approach to teaching a wide range of new skills, developing a current skill, or changing a behaviour that is maladaptive.
Applied Behaviour Analysis continues to be one of the most widely recommended therapies to address learning through reinforcement and functional analysis. Lumenus takes pride in being able to offer ABA therapy as part of a client’s treatment plan.
- Why Choose Lumenus?
Lumenus provides a broad range of services that meets the individual needs of your child, youth or/and family. It includes a range of evidence-based services aimed to provide families with tools to support their child or youth and to participate in their ongoing learning and development. The behaviour therapy provided by Lumenus is based on the principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) and provided under the supervision of a Board-Certified Behaviour Therapist (BCBA). Our staff are trained and skilled in providing effective, client-centered, long-lasting, and impactful services.
- Where are you located?
We have two locations to better serve the needs of our families. They are in the west (Etobicoke) and northeast (North York) areas of Toronto.

- What are the hours?
Hours vary based on the program you choose and location. In general, we offer half-day programs, full-day programs and Saturday hours.
- What are the fees?
Fees vary based on the program and hours of commitment. Please register for an information session or contact us directly for more information.
- What type of payment is accepted?
Full payment for services must be received at least one month prior to the start of service. Alternate financial accommodations may be made on a case-by-case basis. Families understand that they are committing to paying for the full term of service.
Methods of payment available: e-transfer, credit card or cheque.
We understand that there may be times families are unable to continue their service commitment with us due to unforeseen circumstances. For effective planning purposes, Lumenus requires a 30-day notice of cancellation before the start of the service.
Families who choose to cancel their child’s registration, for any reason, prior to the first day of service, or while in service, will receive a refund under the following terms:

- How do I register?

Families who express an interest in a Fee for Service programs can expect the following next steps to determine program eligibility:
- Completion of an initial intake assessment over the phone which will include a parent/caregiver report of their child/youth’s skills, needs and behaviours.
- On-site, in-person observation of the child/youth with members of the Autism Fee for Service team.
- If the family chooses to proceed with the registration, a further appointment will be arranged to go over the agency’s policies, guidelines and to sign contracts and process payment.
- Can I use OAP funding?
Interim one-time funds or Core clinical funds issued by the OAP can be used to pay for purchased behaviour therapy services at Lumenus. You can also purchase services using private funds.
